NYC Lash Precise Defining Mascara: Update

I can't believe how much eyeshadow I used for this look and it looks like nothing at all. I had so much black around my eye for this cat eye look that I had to take it off before I went to run some errands. I used the naked palette mostly, buck, naked, creep and sin as a highlight. I love this palette. The liner is Bobbi Brown gel liner in black, set with creep, NYC lash precise defining mascara in black. On my lips creampuff by bare essentials or escentuals with milani HD advanced lip color in Classy Nude on top!

I have used this mascara for 2 weeks or more. I still like it. I doesn't flake or smear. It doesn't make my lashes hard. I like it and will probably repurchase. You just can't go wrong for 2 bucks! That being said, I don't have complaints about my natural lashes. They are reasonably long and have a good curl, so my mascara doesn't have to be anything special.

Milani Crystal Eyez,Milani HD Advanced Lip color & Nyc Defining Mascara

I wanted to try a glittery look for New Years Eve so I headed out to the drug store. I picked up Milani Crystal Eyez in the light blue color. There are maybe 6 shades. All very pretty, but I was looking for a blue or silver color. It is very, very glittery. My pictures do not do it justice. It comes out of the tube wet and will dry on your lids. It stayed on for a good 6hours and then will start to move around. I did not go out dancing or anything, so I don't know how it would hold up to a night on the town.

I also needed some mascara. I really want to try MUFE smokey lash, but I can't afford that right now so I went really cheap. I think the Nyc defining mascara retails for $1.99. Really! a mascara for $2 bucks! It can't possibly be any good. Right?......Go get some two dollar mascara. My lashes are fairly long so I don't need any lengthening. I need them to be a bit fuller. I usually don't put mascara on my lower lashes because I don't. So what do you think? The mascara doesn't make the lashes stiff and it stays put. I really like this stuff. I will see how long it takes for it to dry out. That may be the trade off in price. We will see.

And lastly, I am always looking for that perfect lip color. Something I can put on without having to look in a mirror. I am still looking, BUT if you suffer from dry lips you must try the HD advanced lip color by Milani. It reminds me of the lipstick by YSL what's it called, you know the one that glides on and leaves your lips soooo moisturized. It retails for like $35. This lip color is just like that with less color payoff. I LOVE it. This lip combo is creampuff by Bare essentuals as a base and Milani HD lip color in #102 classy nude on top, Love!! I will try some of the other colors and tell you what I think. So overall it was a very productive trip. I think I spent around $25. That's less than the mascara would have been. Oh, this lip color retails for $7.99.

I love this color combo and the HD lip color is very moisturizing!

Green Eyes

I never ever would wear green eyeshadow! Green and baby blue are a definite no no, but I have learned so much on various beauty blogs. I now have a greater appreciation for these colors. I didn't think I would look good with green, blue or heaven forbid, silver!!! I will be trying a silver look for New Years! We shall see.

I used my mega palette from Smashbox. I love this thing. Everything is great! The eye shadows are very pigmented. Th e brow wax and powders stay put and the lip glosses are very moisturizing. It was a great buy. I got it from QVC for around $50? I have to check, but whatever it was it was worth every penny.

Happy Holidays!

He said that I would not look good in red. Well I do believe he is wrong. I kinda like red lips. I have yet to leave the house with such a bold color on, but I may have to. I may be red lipstick girl for the new year!

The Perfect Nude

The winner mac SISS!

I have been searching for the perfect nude lip color. This quest is still incomplete. I have gone through several combinations of lipsticks with gloss over it, and nothing was right. Here are some of the colors I have used in the past that were all wrong.

I was really excited to try Call my Bluff from mac. I used the lip gloss You've Got It over it. It just was not what I was after.

The look I was after is seen below. I wanted something that would compliment my skin tone because as you can see below, these models have different skin tones and lip colors, so they would not use the same lip color to get the nude look.

The color below is from NYX. It is called Uranus. A very unfortunate name. I know it's the name of a planet, but still. I mean what am I going to say? I am wearing Uranus on my lips. That's just wrong! I do like the color, but not to produce the nude lip that I was going for.

Another try with Peony by NYX. I like this color also but it is nowhere near a nude. These lip colors are nice, but the formulation is not. They go on streaky and you have to work with them to look good on. They are very moisturizing though.

I even tried these two colors from Revlon. Nope! The color on the right is called Hazelnut the other one's name excapes me at the moment

So some of my winners are Celebutard by Kat Von D, Siss by mac, and Creampuff by bare escentuals ( not shown ).

call my bluff, Uranus, sis, celebutard

Urban Decay NAKED Palette

2 weeks ago I got an email from Urban Decay stating that they had a few palettes in stock. They were going to start fulfilling their waitlist customers first. If you wanted it you had to respond in 48 hrs or they would move to the next in line. I said, "ok." I was sure I would not ever get one and was trying to convince myself that it was not that special. You can dupe these colors with the 88 / metal mania and neutral palettes from Coastal Scents. The beauty of the palette is that all of the shades work well together, and you have every neutral you need for several different looks. This is my first experience with UD eyeshadows, and I really like them. They are very smooth and blendable. I'm very happy I have this one!

Ok, that's it for me and the NAKED Palette. The long wait is over. On to the next obscession! Gucci Guilty.

Philosophy Love

I have said that I am a philosophy fan. So here is my next installation of philosophy love. I have noticed that my skin is very dehydrated lately. I am still oily, but now I am also dehydrated. This is something new since turning 50. I have really noticed that my skin is changing. I don't have wrinkles yet, so I would like to ward them off as long as possible. I am in love with When hope is not enough  hydrating, exfoliating mask. It was part of a set I got last year. It stayed unopened for much of the year until I noticed my skin was feeling awfully dehydrated. I tried it. I love it!! I was looking to repurchase but I can't find it anymore. Well they removed it from their line because it is loaded with parabens. They have since reformulated it and released it as when hope springs eternal. If you have aging skin that feels like it is lacking moisture, try this. You will barely feel the exfoliating granules. It is very gentle. You will love the scent. Who doesn't love the smell of lavender. It reminds me of the scrubs that are used at the spa!
contains methyl and propyl paraben
